Motorola W376 a Bluetooth Tracfone

The Tracfone Motorola W376 now comes with BlueTooth 2.0 enabled. This phone is a GSM phone that works on AT&T or T-Mobile networks.  If you have good coverage in your area by AT&t then the phone you get will be set to work on the At&T Network.
The W376 looks like it is the little brother to the best selling Motorola Razr. The new W376g is thicker but narrower. The keyboard is the same flat design as the Razr. Both the Tracfone W376 and the Razr have the distinctive Motorola Chin.  The Chin makes these phones easier to hold on to for one handed texting.
The Moto W376g is a Single Rate Phone
Calls made anywhere in the United States are one unit per minute. You will only pay one unit per minute for local, long distance and roaming calls. Tracfone and Sister Company NET10 are the only prepaid cell phone companies in the United States that have reasonable roaming rates. Most Prepaid phones do not offer roaming. If another prepaid company does offer roaming you will pay up to 60 cents per minute.
International Tracfone Calls
Calls to over sixty international areas will only cost you one unit per minute with the  W376g. Check out  International Calling at the Tracfone.com web site.  Most of Mexico, South America, and Canada can all be called for one unit per minute.
W376 texting
Tracfone W376g texting rates are .3 units per text in and out. This is a lot better than the .5 units per text on some of the older Tracfones.
Unlimited Double Minutes is standard on W376g
Tracfone has come out with a new bonus program. You can purchase a Double Minutes for Life card (DMFL) for $50 and install it on your phone. Then any time as long as you own that phone you will get twice the minutes [on|stated on the Tracfone Minute Card. This Unlimited Double minutes for life currently comes with your Moto W376g.
Battery life on the Tracfone W376g
The W376g uses the BQ50 Lithium Ion battery. This is a large Battery so the battery life is should be very good. The battery should last up to 10 days between charges. This depends on your usage and where you are.  If you are on the fringe of cell coverage your phone will work a lot harder to keep coverage and go through your charge quicker..
Tracfone Bluetooth Phone
The first Bluetooth enabled phone from Tracfone is the Motorola W376. You will now be able to use a Bluetooth 2.0 headset with your Motorola W376g. It is safer to drive totally hands free which you can do with the new phone
Web Access and Downloading Ring Tones
The web access allowed by Tracfone with their phones is pretty limited but that may be changing. Many options for searching the web just cannot be done yet.
Moto W376 Feel
The new W376 has a nice solid feel.  I like the keyboard and the heft of the phone. The W376 is the same size and feel as the W370 and the W375. It is big enough when unfolded it comfortably fits your face to talk (even if you have a big head). It easily fits into your pocket when folded.

RoKy2 Bluetooth Keyboard

As we have previously discussed here at Computer Takeaway, the real drawback with PDAs and mobile phones when it comes to a truly mobile computing experience is the size and therefore accessibility of the built-in keyboards. In general, the mobile phone keypads are not very good for writing emails, and even the best PDA keyboards are limited in their scope.
Finally we have had the chance to test a truly innovatively designed keyboard made out of fabric. The choice of fabric as the base for the keyboard allows for much greater portability in comparison to other bluetooth keyboards on the market and means that the overall size of the bluetooth keyboard for transport is only around the size of a mobile phone. It is easily small enough to fit in a pocket. The fabric used is also water-repellent and stain resistant.
The Just Mobile RoKy² Bluetooth Keyboard comes with the fabric keyboard, 2 x AAA batteries (apparently enough to power the keyboard for ~10 hours of continuous use), a nylon case and a simple, but effective, clip stand for a mobile phone or PDA.
Having experienced the convoluted installation required by the Ubiquio Skype Bluetooth Keyboard, we were slightly apprehensive about this on. However, we were pleasantly surprised to find that the Just Mobile website has an easy to navigate support area, which provides quickstart manuals and drivers for most operating systems (Palm, Symbian S60, Symbian UIO, Windows Mobile, Blackberry, Windows XP).
The total setup time for us to get the keyboard up and running on our N95 (8GB) was about ten minutes, and thereafter it took only seconds to connect each time we wanted to type.
The feel of the keyboard is obviously completely different to standard keyboards, but is not difficult to become accustomed to, although the only slight drawback that we found with the keyboard was that it tended to slide on polished surfaces if we typed to hard.
The keyboard offers the same features as a laptop keyboard for use with a mobile phone or PDA and it does it really well.

Simple bluetooth cell-phones

The mobile phone market is witness to a rapid succession of innovations and Bluetooth mobile phones are one such innovation. In today’s age when people are always on the move, they desire connectivity at the minimum price. Keeping this need in mind, the phone manufacturers have come up with these phones.
These mobile phones use the Bluetooth technology. This wireless technology is used to link up and share data with other compatible devices such as personal computers, notebooks and printers. The devices available are 1.0, 1.1, 1.2, and 2.0 + versions. The different versions differ in the speed of data transmission and the distance that they can cover which ranges between 10 to 100 meters. The data is transmitted using radio waves. The radio waves are usually in the 2.4 Gigahertz frequency bandwidth.
To transfer a file from a phone to a compatible device or vice-versa, one has to first select the file to be transmitted. Then one has to submit it by “send to” the chosen compatible device by pairing the two devices. Once the connection between the two is established, the file will be transmitted. It can be received by accepting the incoming file.
Bluetooth mobile phones work on 2G and 3G networks, thus allowing the users to take advantage of the unique services on these networks. Most of these phones use the GSM technology. This technology is usually found in high-end phones that would also have features like a camera, a music player, FM radio and so on. Nokia, Samsung, Sony Ericsson and Motorola are some of the phone companies that have already launched Bluetooth-enabled phones.
Advantages Of Bluetooth Mobile Phones
There are numerous advantages of owning a Bluetooth-enabled phone.
One can transfer data to compatible devices without a wire.
The data can be transferred whenever one wishes and at any place. The reason is that the data transfer does not require any CD drives or data lead.
These phones are commonly used to transfer music files, ring tones, pictures and video clips to another phone or compatible device free of cost.
It is possible to access the Internet from any place if one has a Bluetooth phone.
Wireless headsets that accompany the mobile phones facilitate safe driving.
Accessories like the stereophonic Bluetooth headset are used for listening to music.
One can use the smart phone enabled with this technology as a backup to store essential documents.
As more and more technological advances are being made in the mobile market, the consumers are greatly benefiting.

Jabra SP5050 bluetooth review

HandsFreed.com - Not sure about you - but for me, trying to drive while chatting with my better half isn’t always easy. Juggling a phone on my ear while desperately trying to search for the cheapest gas station just isn’t for me. Of course there is a solution and if you’re like most people who don’t enjoy sticking anything in their ear [other than fingers of course], maybe it’s time to try a hands-free product such as the Jabra SP5050 Bluetooth Speaker.
Jabra SP5050 Speaker-phone
Design & Usability: This stylish and sleek speakerphone can be used on the go in any vehicle. It attaches to your sun-visor and can be setup within minutes of use. For those night-crawlers among us - the Jabra even goes into night driving mode turning off the LED allowing the driver to drive without a blue light blinking out the corner of his eye.
Battery: There are tons of good features about this hands-free device including the auto shut-off after 15 minutes of no-phone connection which preserves your battery life. The battery holds its own for approximately 6 hours talk time and 150 hours standby.
Compact: The SP5050 compact device is great for anyone who uses their phone often while driving, or simply for not getting fined. It not only allows you to keep up with the world but also keeps things safe. I have to admit I use it everywhere - I can be spotted sneaking it out my car into the office. This is one of those bluetooth speaker phones you hear about that actually works and is used quite often. Not to mention how great it is for working out, it’s amazing how fast a workout passes when you’re occupied while talking on the phone. Anyways this device gets dragged with me all around town, just because its light weight and easy to carry along almost anywhere.
Prices: Retail price runs at $99.00 at most stores. I snatched mine from JR a couple of months ago, actually caught it on sale at $80 which was a little over $20 in savings after taxes. After the purchase, I assumed it would take awhile to install but it was actually pretty simple; the instructions say “little to no installation” - right on the dot, took me only about 10 minutes to do. I bought it because I kept dropping my phone in the car. Finally decided it was too dangerous to drive without some kind of device to help take phone calls when my family & office are calling every ten minutes.
Cons: Like all products, including this Jabra, there is always some catch; the car-charger (which is included) is 3 feet long! It can often interfere with your driving depending on where you latch it. With the cord being so long it tangles easily, so make sure to charge while not-driving. About sound quality - it has great quality on the streets and urban areas. Once you hit the highways and freeways the noise inside the car reduces the sound quality a bit. But again this is something that I think goes with the territory and isn’t to blame on the device.
Summary: Personally other than the length of the charger I’m overall happy with my Jabra SP5050 compared to a few others I’ve used in the past. I also think the price is justified for this great product.
